Welcome to the Greedy Gordons Pub Group
a collection of Northamptonshire pubs connecting the local community with delicious food & drink, great service and a warm traditional pub welcome.
Greedy Gordons Pub group is run and managed by Head Chef Richard Gordon and business partner Sonya Harvey who have a combined experience of over 50 years in hospitality and an undeniable passion for what they do and their customers’ satisfaction. Their first collaboration begin 3 years ago with The Red Lion in the lovely village of Cranford and the pub became so successful that they have now expanded their business across the county.
There are 2 new perfectly situated pubs - The Snooty Fox in Lowick and The Pig & Waffle in Grafton Underwood - both in beautiful villages with stunning surrounds. They have also introduced 2 online boutiques - evolving in these times to meet the needs of the local community; The Cigar Shop, a high end cigar and gift shop, along with GGexpress, offering amazing local produce from around the county at affordable prices direct to your door.
Eating local and reducing their carbon footprint has been integral to Richard and Sonys business strategy and whilst it began at The Red Lion it is now an important part of all the Greedy Gordon pubs and their future vision. We have just taken on a plot of land and a polytunnel in Brigstock where we will be growing our fruit and vegetables to use in our kitchens and sell at GGexpress. This is next door to the amazing Birds View Vineyard and where we also use the local herd of sheep for some of our Lamb.
Local butchers are used as much as is seasonally possible and Robert Jones (Bob) grows most of the groups fruit and veg (with no pesticides) - it simply all tastes better that way. They use The Roastery in Wellingborough for their coffee and the brilliant tea lab for their tea. It really is important to Richard and Sonya to support small and local businesses – especially in these times.
They call their hospitality ethos ‘laid back luxury – offering a cosy place to relax, eat well and enjoy good company’. Connecting the community with hospitality has always been their biggest dream - and now it is the reality.
