The Greedy Gordons Group is proud to be sponsoring local footballer Bronte
Cooper, who has been picked out for her footballing talent.
Fifteen-year-old Bronte has been selected for the FA’s new Emerging Talent
Centre at Peterborough United Football Club, where she trains and plays in the
under 16 squad.
Bronte, who has been playing football for five years, is now getting two-hours
of professional FA coaching in a new £1.7 million indoor training dome which
opened earlier this year at the Idverde training centre in Oundle Road,
Peterborough.
She also has weekly access to the gym, where Peterborough United Men and
Women train, and has nutritional advice and psychological support where
needed.
The ETC feeds directly into Peterborough Women’s first team and there are
England camps for those identified as the most promising.
As well as playing in the ETC, Bronte plays up a year for Thrapston Under 16
Girls (scoring twice for them in their latest game), and she also plays for
Kettering Under 15 Girls.
Greedy Gordons Group owner Richard Gordon said: “We are thrilled to have
the opportunity to sponsor Bronte and look forward to watching her progress.”
Peterborough United Football Club Women’s General Manager, Bobby
Copping, said: “We would like to thank Greedy Gordons for their individual
player sponsorship for Bronte which will help improve the programme and
facilities for all the girls at the Emerging Talent Centre in Peterborough. Our
aim is to produce as much homegrown talent as possible and ultimately to give
girls in the local community a chance of getting a contract and having a career
as a professional footballer.”
